Purple
Salute has commissioned a cartoon which depicts all six Services.
In keeping with our 'with a smile' aim, it is amusing but
tells the story of the six services which work tirelessly
to preserve our peace and safety.
Frank Cooper, note the Herc on the wall.
Created by Frank Cooper, a retired Hercules pilot, and formerly
manager of the K Simulators at RAF Lyneham, this cartoon is
especially poignant because Frank knew all the crew of the
Hercules XV179 which was brought down in Iraq, and lost eight
friends that day. His effort to honour the crew and their
passengers resulted in the 'Doodle'. Frank is renowned for
his cartoons and the Hercules is recognised throughout the
RAF in the guise he has created in our Doodle. Equally moving
is the knowledge that this will be the last cartoon Frank
will do as he has now retired and moved his family to Cyprus
following a long held dream. Well known at RAF Lyneham and
on the ten pin bowling circuit for his dreadful sense of humour
and lively, entertaining attitude to everyday life, his antics
as a pilot will probably go down in the annals of history.
For Purple Salute, his tireless efforts to promote and help
spread the word, in order to make sure his former colleagues
and friends get the support they richly deserve will be missed
when he goes.
The Doodles are signed 'Daz', Franks 'handle' for many years,
but after much persuasion he has signed the Limited Edition
with his own name.
The black and white version is supplied in an attractive wooden
frame (the silver frame is no longer available) at £15.00
plus £7.95 post and packaging.
The Limited Edition of 250 coloured prints are available at
£35.00 plus £8.95 p & p

The Three Tuns, has
a lot to offer, good meals, good ale, a convivial atmosphere
and the ability to cater for almost any occasion. Pete and
Bev have given so much, not only to Purple Salute, but also
to the local community

in the USA and works for us there and Linda and Tracie based
in Tamworth.
